I am generally an audio reviewer, and I attempt to post constructive comments no matter how good or bad the song is. I may start composing sometime if I can ever find the time.

I've decided that I'm going to explain my rating scales for my audio reviews.
For the 0-5 vote, I vote based on how an uneducated person would vote. Basically:
0: Zero-bomb. This means one of several things: 1. Go find a different hobby. 2. This doesn't make sense. 3. This is offensive. If its #3 then I report it as well. I'll also give these when I feel that a song is ranked way too high on a list, but I'll say what I really think in the comments.
1: I don't usually give these. When I do, its because a well-known composer is spitting out something that would usually deserve a 2 or 3. I'm harsher with those people.
2: Bad work. This is usually complemented by a heavy criticism in the comments section.
3: Either 1. A work in progress (that is not labeled as such) that shows a lot of potential. 2. OK work, but could be improved A LOT.
4: Standard rating.
5: Something special to it.
My comments section rating is based on a professional standpoint.
0: These usually accompany a zero-bomb, and sometimes are followed by an explanation of why I zero-bombed the work.
1: I never give these.
2: I never give these.
3: I don't give these in general circumstances.
4: These usually come with twos, and accompany biting criticism that I fully expect to be labeled as "unhelpful" by haters.
5: These come with threes if I feel that a six is too high.
6: These usually come with threes, but can come with fours if I feel that there is something technically wrong with it.
7: Standard, nothing-special NewGrounds work. I give these if I also gave a 4 in the voting, but sometimes they come with a 5 if I feel like there is something technically wrong with it.
8: Standard, nothing-special NewGrounds work. I give these if I also gave a 5 in the voting.
9: I like this, but I take issue with a few things.
10: These are special. They are usually accompanied by a favorite. And I'll probably have your song on loop for about 15-ish minutes.
Of course, there doesn't have to be a relationship between the vote and the comment rating, and I break these guidelines all the time, but I thought I'd give a brief sketch.
